Artist Statement

This body of work explores our relationship to the body within an increasingly digitized world. The series examines what it means to remain connected to the earth while living in a culture shaped by screens and constant stimulation. Rooted in natural cycles and embodied awareness, the work considers the tension between technological acceleration and the slower wisdom of the body and land.

These works question how digital systems influence our capacity for presence. As we spend more time in digital environments, I explore what happens to our physical presence and our relationship to the earth. Through this series, I consider how identity becomes shaped by what we wear, what we own, and how we present ourselves, rather than by our shared humanity. At its core, the work centers on reconnection: returning to the body, to the earth, and to direct experience.

I work with film and digital photography, incorporating double exposures and motion blur. Photographing the body within natural environments, I layer the images to create movement and softness. The blur allows forms to merge rather than stand apart, reflecting the interdependence between human presence and landscape. This approach focuses less on how the body looks and more on how it feels.

This work invites viewers to pause and reexamine their connection to their bodies and the natural world. The intention is not to oppose technology, but to remember the intelligence already present within us. The experience is meant to feel grounding, an interruption to speed and a return to what is tangible.

As the series evolves, it will continue to examine how embodied living can coexist with digital advancement, deepening the dialogue between human form and natural cycles.
