This was taken of my two dear friends of mine when I lived on the Eno River in Durham, North Carolina.
It was so special because we got to spend time in nature during the winter when everything felt dead but the sun was out and the trees held us.
I was going through heartbreak and loss of a romantic relationship and I was in the thick of the grief in the heart and all I knew how to move through it was through creating fine artwork with these two friends. We spent time on the river connecting to the land, the waters and making what looks like a painting through this photo.
“Mother” is a reminder that through any grief and heartbreak, when we spend time in nature it can heal us. It’s a reminder to spend time in nature and our worries can go away and we create even more amazing ideas :)
This is reminder to allow yourself to be nurtured and to continue to nurture your heart.
